Hi, I’m Charmaine Bonhomme, Founder and CEO of Empathic HomeCare Services. I was born in Nassau, Bahamas, and moved to the United States as a child. I am also the proud mother of two amazing daughters, who inspire me every day to lead with compassion, integrity, faith, and purpose. My journey into caregiving began long before it became my profession. At just six years old, I was caring for my grandmother, who was also my guardian. I remember carrying water from the well, helping her in the garden, cleaning our home, and assisting with her daily needs. Even as a little girl, I discovered something that would shape the rest of my life I found joy in caring for others. Looking back now, I know God was already preparing me for my purpose.
When I moved to the United States, that calling only became stronger. By the age of 15, I wanted to do more than help around my own home I wanted to make a difference in the lives of people who needed compassion and support. My mother, a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), welcomed me into her world of caregiving. She taught me the foundations of serving others with dignity, patience, and respect.
